Independence First

Independence First (IndependenceFirst) is a Milwaukee-based nonprofit Independent Living Center serving people with disabilities of all kinds and ages across the four-county metro Milwaukee area. More than 50% of staff, managers, and board members have disabilities themselves. Their services include advocacy, independent living skills training, information and referral, peer support, personal care, benefits counseling, assistive technology, and transition services — all grounded in the core belief that people with disabilities have the right to control their own lives.
