Professional Development Series – AI for Child Welfare & Adoption Human Services: Ethical and Responsible Use

As generative AI becomes part of everyday life, child welfare and adoption professionals are asking how to use it responsibly and how to talk with children and families about it. This webinar introduces human service workers to how AI may support tasks like drafting communications and summarizing complex information, while keeping professional judgment and human oversight at the center.

Explore privacy, confidentiality, and bias; learn how children and adolescents are using chatbots and AI companions; and see how agency AI policies translate into
everyday practice.

Dr. Marina Badillo-Diaz, LCSW, SIFI, is a consultant with MABD Consulting and the creator of “The AI Social Worker,” a resource on AI applications for social workers. With a background in community mental health and K-12 school social work, she has trained more than 8,000 social workers and clinicians across the US and Canada on integrating AI into practice ethically and responsibly.
