The impact of early childhood trauma on a child’s developing brain is profound, especially the prefrontal cortex, which includes neural pathways responsible for thinking, behavioral, and emotional regulation. When children experience trauma, their brains frequently remain in a state of heightened alert, prioritizing survival over the complex processing required for learning, socializing, and daily tasks.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Angela Marx is a licensed clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience supporting children, families, and neurodivergent individuals through direct support, case management, behavioral support, and crisis response. She is the founder of Place of Mind LLC, specializing in psychological assessment and mental health support for neurodivergent individuals.

Licensed foster parents will receive 1.5 training credits for participation in this webinar. Each individual participant must register separately to receive credit.
