This video serves as a friendly reminder for all of us who are caregivers; there may be times during our parenting journey that will be difficult, frustrating, and even painful. We may feel overwhelmed and exhausted by any combination of our own needs, the needs of the children in our care, work, and other stressors. In times like these, we may feel stretched thin and embarrassed or afraid to ask for help from others.

The caregivers in this video help to normalize the feelings and experiences of being a parent. Not only do they remind us that we are not alone, but they encourage us not to give up. To be our best for the children in our care, we have to make time to take care of ourselves, stay grounded, and connect with others to recharge our batteries when we are feeling low. The parents in this video share the ways they reach out or create outlets to connect. Whether it’s time spent alone or in the company of others, the key takeaways are that we learn to recognize when we need a break and ensure we have the support we need to be at our best for the children in our care.
