SUMMARY:Family Pizza Party and Silent Disco: WI Dells - Spon. by Jockey Being Family
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event is required on Eventbrite. (on sale July 13 @6pm) \n\n\n\n\nThe Wisconsin Family Connections Center\, along with Jockey Being Family\, invites your family to join us in Wisconsin Dells for a night full of pizza\, silent disco\, crafts & games\, and connection! \nOur night will begin with check-in starting at 5:30pm followed by pizza at 6:00pm. The Silent Disco will start at 7:00pm and will be played for approximately 1.5 hours. There will be crafts\, games and prizes! \nA silent disco is like a dance party with a secret soundtrack! Imagine you and your friends each get a pair of special headphones. Instead of music blasting from big speakers\, the music goes straight into your ears. Everyone can be dancing to the same song—or even different songs at the same time! \nTo someone without headphones\, it looks pretty funny:\n– Kids are dancing and singing.\n– Nobody else can hear the music.\n– All you hear are giggles\, footsteps\, and people singing slightly off-key! \nIt’s a bit like being in your own music video while standing in a room full of other music videos. \nNot a dancer? No problem! We’ll have games and crafts ready for you to enjoy after dinner. \nOptional $150 hotel reimbursement: For families who attend the Pizza and Silent Disco night and choose to spend a night at the hotel\, WiFCC will reimburse $150 of your hotel charge (this option must be selected on your event registration). WiFCC block room rates ($119 + $35 Resort fee + tax) are available at The Wilderness Resort (room block details will be in confirmation email message). These reservations must be made no later than August 12\, 2026\, as our rate will be released at that time. Room reservations and all associated costs are the responsibility of each family and will NOT be made by WiFCC\, rather\, families who indicate they would like to receive the $150 reimbursement on their registration form will receive a form upon check-in at the Pizza and Silent Disco and will be mailed the $150 within 3 weeks after the event\, following their return of the form and hotel receipt. There is a limit of one hotel reimbursement per household. \nThis event is intended for foster\, adoptive\, guardianship\, reunified and relative caregiver families residing in the state of Wisconsin. \nDue to popularity of family events\, please let your local WiFCC specialist know ahead of time if there is any reason you can no longer attend or need fewer tickets than you originally signed up for. We would like to accommodate as many families as possible. \nIf you have questions about this event\, contact Breanna Calko at bcalko@cclse.org. \nCancellations for events must be made at least 72 hours in advance. If 3 or more late cancellations or no-shows occur within a six-month period\, the household’s event registrations in the following six months will default to a waitlist. \nThis event is limited to Wisconsin residents impacted by adoption or out-of-home care and their immediate household.

SUMMARY:Professional Development Series - The Power of Partnership: Prioritizing Lived Experience in Child Welfare
DESCRIPTION:Peer parent programs provide child welfare-involved families with a unique opportunity to connect with parents who have successfully navigated the child welfare system and share similar experiences. Through peer support\, families gain access to practical guidance\, community connections\, and firsthand insight from someone who understands the challenges of navigating the system. In this webinar\, participants will explore the value of lived experience in supporting families\, learn how lived experience voice can positively impact service delivery and systems change\, and discover practical strategies for incorporating lived experience into their own work. She also supervises Family Teaming and co-chairs the Jefferson County Citizen Review Panel. \nRegistration is limited to 500 participants. Wisconsin Professionals with an existing PDS account will receive 1.5 training credits and a certificate of attendance for participating in this webinar. Other participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Each individual participant must register separately to receive credit.\nQuestions? That includes youth with a medical diagnosis\, self-diagnosis\, or suspected diagnosis.  Nature’s Navigators embraces neurodivergence and the associated unique thinking and learning of autistic youth through flexible teaching strategies. \nAttendees will participate in hands-on outdoor and indoor activities\, such as barging to and exploring Blackhawk Island\, geocaching for treasure\, Lego robotics\, and hiking through beautiful landscapes. The camp will be held at Upham Woods\, along the famous Dells (Dalles) of the Wisconsin River\, two miles northwest of Wisconsin Dells. Upham Woods consists of 320 acres of land on the banks of the Wisconsin River\, including a 210-acre island called Blackhawk Island\, which offers an excellent “river classroom” to study Wisconsin’s natural and cultural history. \nNature’s Navigators is funded by the USDA-backed Wisconsin Rural Partnerships Institute\, a gift from the Read Coakley Family Foundation\, and gifts from other generous donors. The camp is free to all attendees. All youth campers must be accompanied by an adult during the duration of the camp sessions. \nRegistration is required and space is limited.
