Teutonia Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53209 Schedule 9am-12pm: Managing Adoptive Child’s Behaviors: What’s Adoption, What’s Developmental? All families face a wide variety of behavioral stages. Adoptive families, especially, may find themselves dealing with some additional behaviors – some adoption related and some developmental. Dr. Joseph Crumbly will discuss common behavioral issues, as well as suggest some techniques to help families deal with these issues. 1 – 4pm: Rebuilding Positive Identity & Self-Esteem Identity and self-esteem issues can plague every child. For adoptees, they can be especially tricky hurdles to jump. In this session, Dr. Crumbley will address how to help your children rebuild and enhance their identity and self-esteem. Dr. Joseph Crumbly of Philadelphia is a renowned author, kinship care and Transracial adoption consultant. As a speaker, Dr. Crumbly is both engaging and charismatic, delighting the audience with real-life situations and humorous anecdotes. Dr. Crumbly has written two books, Relatives Raising Children: An Overview of Kinship Care and Transracial Adoption and Foster Care: Practice issues for Professionals. He has spoken to parents and professionals at conferences across the nation.
