Panel: Culturally Competent Care
June 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join Youth Voices Rising on Zoom for a groundbreaking panel, “Culturally Competent Care,” featuring lived experts who have experienced life within families and communities outside of their own cultures and languages. This panel aims to illuminate best practices, emphasizing the importance of creating safe spaces, cultivating culturally competent practitioners, and fostering culturally affirming community spaces, groups, and activities. The experts will delve into the significance of vulnerability and openness to learning about the diverse cultures of youth, providing valuable insights on what not to do and how to avoid stereotypes, archetypes, or tokenization. The discussion will also explore data-driven approaches to culturally competent care. Whether you are a practitioner, policymaker, or anyone interested in enhancing cultural competency, this panel offers practical guidance and a platform to engage in a meaningful dialogue on creating inclusive and respectful care environments. Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to the evolution of culturally sensitive practices that prioritize understanding, respect, and collaboration.
