Other Health Impairment: An Overview
May 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Other Health Impairment (OHI) is meant as another option when a learner has disability-related needs that may be caused by or as a result of a medical condition. However, just because a learner has a medical diagnosis does not always mean they are eligible for specially designed instruction or Special Education. Join us for information about OHI, some of the more common or uncommon conditions, and the resources available when it comes to supporting a learner with disability-related needs and OHI.
Presenter: Eva Kubinski is the state program consultant for Other Health Impairment. She has been a member of the Special Education Team at DPI for 20 years and is also the state program consultant for Orthopedic Impairment and Traumatic Brain Injury. Prior to joining DPI, she was a school psychologist for several Wisconsin school districts and a technical assistance provider for a federally funded center.
