Making Sense of Your Senses

Did you know there are actually eight senses? Join us to learn a little more about each of these senses. We will discuss what over- and under-stimulation may look like in each area and share ideas for activities that can help regulate the senses and get them back ready to learn. We will also share fun activities you can do with your child to engage the different senses and promote learning.
Presenter: Jen Gettelman is a Deafblind Consultant on the Wisconsin Deafblind Technical Assistance Project and WESP-DHH Outreach Teams. She provides support to families and service providers across the state. Jen has 15 years of classroom experience working with deafblind students and four years working with WESP-DHH and WDBTAP. She holds WI DPI licensure in both Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Regular Education and has completed intervener training through Utah State University. Jen actively participates in the WDBTAP Advisory Council, the National Interveners (NIAA) and Advocate Association, and the Special Education Team for the Wisconsin Department of Instruction.
